Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire Growth Hub

The brief
We began working with the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Growth Hub in January 2018 and continue to work closely with the hub. We created a two-month fully integrated marketing campaign which included social media, bus advertising, print and web advertising, press releases and case studies. By February 2018, calls to the Growth Hub’s business advice line had increased by 60%, visitors to the website had increased by 98% and web sessions increased 110%. Traffic to the website from Twitter had increased by 2,800% and LinkedIn by 100%.

We later ran a winter campaign in 2018 called #GrowandGetEm which invited Staffordshire businesses to enter two competitions to win prizes which would help their business in the new year. We had lots of entries, which helped to increase awareness of the Growth Hub, and the winners were very happy with their prizes!

We have also delivered a marketing workshop to Growth Hub members, advising businesses about how they can use social media to increase awareness and generate leads. We also talked about traditional PR and what makes a good news story. The event was very well received and we had some fantastic feedback…

“The content, delivery and professionalism was first class. You had clearly put a lot of preparation into the session and I have no doubt that the delegates found it very useful and informative.  The high-tech quiz also made it interactive, fun and ensured content was learnt.” Rebecca Wilson, Business & Enterprise Support, Staffordshire County Council.

Nicola Kent, business support team leader, Staffordshire Growth Hub
“By working with Purple Sprout, the Stoke on Trent & Staffordshire Growth Hub has been able to reach businesses across
the City and County who we have not worked with before. Their enthusiasm and hard work on our marketing project have
enabled us to extend our scope far beyond anything we could have achieved ourselves.”
